Invisible War

None of us will ever forget Tuesday, April 20th of 1999. On that tragic day two teenage boys "celebrating" Hitler’s birthday walked into the Columbine High School library in Littleton and waged a one -sided war against innocent victims.

Filled with hate, the two members of a Gothic gang placed homemade bombs in various locations and started shooting any person who moved. The helpless prey in this vicious attack, hid beneath tables, in storage rooms, closets or ran for their lives. When the attack was over 15 people were dead, including the two malicious young men. Labeled the worst school tragedy in history incidents such as these have increased every year and now young people and their parents are terrified, afraid to go to school.

What would motivate these boys to do such a hideous act? That’s the question being asked. The answer is simple - hate is running wild in our world.

There is a war raging. Newspapers, radio and TV have announced the activities of the combat -- school killings, drive-by shootings, millions of refugees in Kosovo being thrown out of their homes to be killed or starved to death, rapes, murder, child abuse. It is a battle for souls. The war is an invisible one and the generals who order the foot soldiers to do the murdering are unseen to us because they are demonic.

The Bible warns us about the conflict in Ephesians. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12)

This spiritual battle started at the beginning of our world when Satan, the author of hate set out to destroy mankind. As time passes and we get closer to Armageddon Satan knows that his time is limited. Because he knows that he and his followers will spend eternity in the fires of Hell the Devil wants to enslave the souls of humans like he did those two-hate filled boys who caused so much grief in Littleton.

There is a Heaven and there is a hell, the decision about which side we choose is ours. Christ gave His life to give us that choice..

The signs have been clear but many have ignored them. School prayer was banished and schools have been on the target of hate shootings. Young people who want to pray in school functions must fight the ACLU to have that very basic right. People are just too busy to go to church now or they find a religion that excuses sin and preaches that "if it feels good, do it," marriage and the family are scoffed at, sexual sins are rampant, alcohol and drug abuse is on the increase, morals destroyed, child abuse is on the rise and hate is raging.

The Bible again in Ephesians tells us what to do in this battle. "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes you may be able to stand your ground . . . ." Ephesians 6:13.

Make no mistake Christianity will prevail because our general is the ruler of the universe, the one who created Satan and his demons. Where is the person who those deluded boys worshipped? Where is Hitler spending eternity?

Madalyn Murray O’Hair, the leader of atheism and the person responsible for banishing prayer from school, vanished several years ago, along with a vast amount of gold. Gold was the god she worshipped. But O’Hair lost. The son in that lawsuit is now a committed, outspoken Christian. Authorities have been searching for her body because it is believed O’Hair met her maker at the hands of two of her employees. It was a tragic meeting. She rejected Him and accepted the Devil.

In this invisible war we can choose which side we’re on. There are only two sides. We can choose Christ and His love or we can choose Satan and hatred, just as did those two unfortunate young men who killed and wounded so many in Columbine School in Littleton.
