Sunrise, Sunset

When my youngest daughter was in high school in Brighton she was in the class play "Fiddler on the Roof." They did an excellent job and I've always remembered the haunting melody and words to the song "Sunrise, Sunset," because it expresses my thoughts. Where do those years go? Sunrise

One of the benefits of going out very early in the morning are the heavenly sunrises that spread slowly across the eastern sky. One of the benefits of going out early in the morning are the heavenly sunrises

Just like the song says I don't remember growing older, but I know that one day I had three little girls, then as the seasons passed they were grown and had children of their own.

"Are these the little girls I carried? I don't remember growing older, when did they?"
"One season following another, laden with happiness and tears."

Now I am closer to the sunset of life Through the years laughter and tears mingled. My son-in-law, Ron was killed instantly in a truck car accident when his little boy Billy was two years old. Someone gave my daughter a book, "Within the Gates." It was the story of Rebecca Springer's remarkable vision of paradise. Rebecca suffered from a very serious illness. The light of Heaven will come from Jesus While she was in a coma she had a vision of Heaven and when she recovered she wrote of the wonderful things she had seen. Since I read that book I have looked forward to Heaven. It has given me great comfort over the years.

Gordon Lindsay, who edited it explained that the little 60 page manuscript was first published 70 years ago by a publishing house associated with the Methodist church, published again in 1971 and reprinted in 1979. Sunrise, sunset, swiftly flow the years

A short time later while browsing in a bookstore I found another book about Heaven which fascinated me. I took it to the Holylands with me but when we got home my bags were missing. Eventually I got my luggage back but the book about Heaven was gone. Someone else wanted it as bad as I did. I tried to find another one in every book store I entered but couldn't.

One season following anotherOne day I got an advertisement from Gwen Shaw and in it she offered a book on Heaven called "Intra Muros, my Dream of Heaven (Within the Gates.)" She said she had found an old book in a used bookstore and she described the experience as finding one of earth's greatest treasures. She reproduced it and Ingeltal Press printed it. I sent for the book and was shocked and pleased when I discovered that it was the same book I had lost. Intra Muros is the full, unabridged version of the manuscript that I had read earlier "Within the Gates." Only God could have put that in my hands. Sunrises and sunsets are a small taste of what Heaven's glories will be Rebecca Springer talked about the radiant light in Heaven, the light of Jesus. "Instead of sunlight there was a golden and rosy glow everywhere, something like the afterglow of a southern sunset in midsummer," Rebecca wrote.

Revelation 21: 23 says, "The city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it; for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the light thereof."

"Sunrise, sunset, swiftly flow the years,
One season following another."

Now I am getting closer to the sunset. The passing of the years have seen my grandsons grow into tall young men and I am watching my great grandchildren as they grow. I think those sunrises and sunsets are just a small taste of what Heaven's glories will be. The sunsets are as beautiful as the sunrises.
